Posh Frosty Quilt Class

Posh Frosty Quilt Class
Finished Quilt Size: 28" x 38"
Come and make a cute snowman quilt with Lisa! This is the second quilt class in the "Posh" series from Sew Kind of Wonderful. They're all so cute and just the perfect size - I think we may need to do them all!
Have you ever wanted to try curved piecing and didn't know where to start, or you've tried it before and were frustrated with the pattern or process?
Sew Kind of Wonderful's patterns are great for those new to curved piecing or those who've been frustrated with it in the past. Their patterns utilize gentle curves, which are easy to sew, and the blocks are cut and stitched larger, then trimmed down after sewing. A perfectly accurate 1/4" seam isn't even really necessary (though it's a skill we all need for other projects!) With these patterns, as long as you're close, it will work - because let's be honest here - curved piecing is not always the easiest of method to master. Sew Kind of Wonderful makes it a breeze!
In the class, you will learn how to use the Mini Quick Curve Ruler and Sew Kind of Wonderful's method of piecing curves and trimming blocks.
This is a great project to learn with! Santa is the perfect size to learn the process without being overwhelmed by committing to a huge quilt. We will get as many blocks done in class as we can. If attendees still feel like they need assistance finishing, I'm happy to add another day where we can get together for help.
Prior to Class
Please purchase your pattern and ruler combo prior to class and do all of your pre-cutting (squares and rectangles) so that we can get right into cutting with the curve ruler during class.
Supplies Needed for Class
Posh Frosty pattern by Sew Kind of Wonderful
QCR Mini Curve Ruler
Thread snips or Scissors
Sewing pins and clips
Sewing machine with a 1/4" piecing foot
Thread
Small iron and ironing mat (the Omnigrid folding mat is a great option! It has a side for ironing and a side for cutting!)
Rotary cutter and cutting mat (a rotating mat would work also for this project, or the Omnigrid folding mat!)
Fabric Needed for Class
*Colors listed are suggestions, based on requirements listed on the pattern. Small prints (non-directional) or solids would work equally well for this quilt!
1/4 yard (black) fabric for hat, eyes and buttons
3/4 yard (white) fabric for the Frosty's body
2 fat quarters coordinating colors or a light and dark of the same color for Frosty's scarf
5 pieces assorted fabrics, roughly 10" x 10" each, for the flower, hat band, nose, arms and pipe
1 1/4 yards background fabric
For finishing your quilt (not done in class), you will also need to get 1 yard of fabric for backing and 1/2 yard of fabric for binding.
