Embroidery - Winter Wonderland Ornaments OESD Class

This is an embroidery class that is hands on for designs in the OESD collection - Winter Wonderland Ornaments. 

Projects to be completed hands on during class: 
- Lace ornament 
- Lace and applique ornament 
- Snowflake ornament Free Standing Lace (FSL)
- Globe Free Standing Lace (FSL) ornament

Techniques included in the class will be: 
- Applique techniques 
- Trimming tools 
- Discuss terminology provided by OESD 
- Stitching order modifications
- Copy/paste, multiple designs in the same hoop and saving modification to your USB drive
- Final assembly of the Globe Free Standing Lace ornament will be demonstrated during class using the Alligator clamp and button clips from OESD.  It is not expected that the students will have dried pieces ready for assembly during class.  


Supplies needed: 
- White fabric (1/2 yard needed for class hands on only) 
- Red fabric (1/2 yard to be used for class hands on only)
- White embroidery thread (pattern uses Isacord 0017) 
- Red embroidery thread (pattern uses Isacord 1903) 
- Aquamesh stabilizer (provided in class only)
- Fusible Woven stabilizer (provided in class only)
- Embroidery Module 
- Embroidery Machine 
- 2 Empty Bobbins required 
- Snips/Duckbill scissors 
- USB drive needed to bring to class, so that your designs can be copied to it.
- Bernina Oval embroidery hoop (or equivalent) that covers 5.7 x 10 embroidery area

OESD stabilizers are recommended.  Other off brands can affect your results.

We are not using the Silver Detail in the pattern at this time, since that requires extra thread guides and techniques for your machine to handle metallic thread.  We will not have enough time during the class to cover this. 

PJ's Quilt and Longarm Studio is a Bernina dealer.  Therefore, our expertise is in the Bernina software.  
- If you do not have a Bernina embroidery machine, please bring in your machine manual. 
- If you have a Bernina embroidery machine, we are able to walk you software functions

For trimming applique fabric, we recommend one of the following tools: 
- OESD Curved EZ Snip Micro Serrated Blade 5 
- Small 4" duckbill 

Class fee includes: 
- Instruction 
- Fusible Woven stabilizer used during class 
- Aquamesh stabilizer used during class

When you sign up for this class you need to have: 
- Already own the Winter Wonderland Ornaments collection from OESD 
- Or, select one of these options:  (a) 3 designs only used in class;  (b) purchase of entire Winter Wonderland Ornaments collection
