Flip, Flop and Splash Applique

This is a small project that consists of machine applique.  This is a class that teaches the fundamental of machine applique.  Pattern is not included in the price of the class - you will need to purchase your pattern prior to class.

Finished size of this project is: 12in x 14in.  

Fabric Requirements: 
- 1/4 yard or 9" x 11" strip tan/sand for the background 
- 1/8 yard light  print for borders 
- 1/8 yard for binding 
- Scraps of fabric: 

• 8" x 10" flashy green summer print (flip flops) 
• 4" x 8" white on white (flip flop straps) 
• 5" x 5" off white (sand dollar) 
• 6" x 10" white/cream (wave #1, nearest flip flops) 
• 5" x 8" light blue (wave #2) 
• 5" x 7" medium blue (wave #3) 
• 5" x 6" blue (wave #4)

- 14" x 16" of backing fabric 
- 13" x 15" scrap of batting 
- Lightweight fusible interface (e.g. Heat N Bond) 





The following is required for this class: 
- Sewing machine 
- Snips for your sewing machine 
- Thread for machine applique 
- Your own iron 
- Your own ironing mat or you must bring a applique pressing sheet. 
- Bring 2 pre-wound bobbins
- New 80/12 needed 
- An open toe foot for your sewing machine is a must 
- Marking pencil 
- Applique scissors (used for cutting paper) 
- Fabric scissors 
- Threads to match your fabric 
- Notebook to take notes

- Heat & Bond interface
- Mini Iron

Please note that fusible interface requires you to have the appropriate tools to prevent getting glue on your iron and ironing board. If you get the interface glue on your iron, it is helpful to use
