Free Motion Quilting on Domestic Machine - Part I

This class covers the basics of free motion quilting on a domestic sewing machine. 

Do not expect to be an expert after this class.  This is a skill that takes lots of practice.  What we cover in this class is to help you understand what you need to practice.  

The Part I class covers: 
- Terminology discussion
- Free motion feet discussion
- Free motion tools discussion
- Basting discussion
- Batting discussion
- Thread choices
- How to start/stop and test quilt sandwich
- What do I consider practice?

Additional classes are being considered for: 
- Practice on meandering **
- Practice with walking foot (e.g. straight line and gentle wave) **
- Practice on pre-printed Free Motion panel  
- Practice marking and free motion row
- Practice with feathers 
- Practice with swirls and echo quilting
- How do I determine what to quilt?  What do I quilt on this pieced top? ***
- Panel thread painting  (panel of your choice)

Requirements for this class: 
- Sewing Machine 
- Snips 
- Thread 
- Quilting needles 
- Free motion foot for your machine.  Do the research and acquire the foot for your machine model before the class.

A minimum of 3 individuals are required for this class.  Otherwise, it will be rescheduled to a later date.

Fabric for test quilt sandwiches will be provided during class.
