This is a event that includes both sewing machine applique class component and a quilt-a-long for 12 weeks.  

The class component will cover the basics for: 
- Difference between steam-a-seam and heat-n-bond. 
- Difference between featherweight vs. heavy and iron heat impact.  What happens when your iron is too hot. 
- Basic blanket stitch around applique test piece.
- Basic satin stitch around applique test piece.

The remaining parts of this event are a quilt-a-long for the individuals in this event.  

The Rainbow of Jewels kit is sold separately.   The quilt is 99 1/2 x 99 1/2 inches.  

This is a project of a lifetime and a treasure. 


You must bring the following to the class: 
- Steam-a-seam or heat-n-bond. (11 yards needed) (Note:  a yard can be purchased at a time if needed and is available in the shop.) 
- Creative Grids Simple 7/8 Triangle Maker Quilt Ruler (CGR78) ruler very helpful.
- 6 1/2" square or 6 1/2" by 12 1/2" creative grid ruler.
- Mini Iron II or a small mini iron. 
- Small iron mat to use at your table.
- Thermal thimbles recommended. 
- Paper scissors to use cutting applique (I prefer Tim Holtz 5" Titanium Snips). 
- Marking pen (I prefer Micron 05 pen or Fine Tip Sharpie since these rub off less on my hands). 
- Sewing Machine and sewing supplies (include your quarter inch foot, sewing pins).  
- Rotary cutter and you need to bring your own rotary mat.  
- Various embroidery thread colors for satin stitching (Isacord is sold in the shop). 
- Black embroidery thread for button hole stitching 
- Tear-away stabilizer that is white 
- Fabric glue may be needed (do not use Elmer's or other water soluble glue) 
- A Lightbox is highly recommended.
