Name: Judy Sherman
What do you do at the shop? Owner, Teacher, Bookkeeper, Inventory (order, manage, kits, etc.), Longarmer, Sales.
Where did you come from? I was born in North Dakota, and have lived in Minnesota and Wisconsin as well. We moved to Florida right before Irma in June of that year.
How many children and grandchildren do you have? We have 3 children - 2 girls and 1 boy. All of our children are married with children of their own across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Across the 3 families that are 9 grandchildren.
What do you do when you are not working? Our children are all grown and on their own. So if we are not working, we may be enjoying the pool and catching up on laundry. Unfortunately we work 7 days a week. I still find time to read and solve digital puzzles on my ipad.
I used to like to bake like Lisa, but found that I was the only one eating the sweets. When our kids were younger, we used to take them camping in Minnesota all summer. That included fishing, tubing behind the boat and water-skiing. We spent a lot of time boating in Minnesota. I also was doing cross-stitch from a young age, beading and then started quilting in 1998.
What do you like about sewing? I have quilted primarily with some embroidery. After moving to Florida Pat and I started longarming. I like using all of the machines.
How long have you been quilting? My first experience with quilting was a community service class that my Mom asked me if I wanted to go with her in grade school. I started quilting in 1998 and went full speed ahead. Minnesota is darn cold and the kids used lots of quilts. Plus my mother-in-law is a quilt fanatic, but doesn't sew herself. (She quilts by pocket-book at Amish stores).
What careers have you had? I was a medical claims examiner for Lutheran Brotherhood in Minneapolis, then went into testing for Information Technology which progressed into database administration. I then moved to Wells Fargo and went into data warehousing. I designed and created code to load data that was used for analytics. I also wrote SQL code that was used to create reports for analytics that was used for things like fraud detection and the APY on High Interest Yield/CD's sold by the bank.
How many machines do you have? Well, I have 2 Bernina sewing machines at home and a Featherweight that I received as a gift from a friend. I also have a L890 Combo machine at home. I have an older Viking overlock machine that I should give to my sister.
What makes you happy? Getting back to peace and tranquility. It makes me happy to do things for my family, by cooking/planning for those perfect holiday's. I like to learn how to do new things and I like to teach. I have to add that I love to longarm!

How any machines do you have? Only the ones that Judy doesn't claim, which are the ones in his grave yard.
What makes you happy? (This was from Judy) Pat enjoys when Lisa bakes and brings goodies into the shop, because he has developed a sweet tooth during the day. Time on his couch, when he falls asleep when a moving is playing. He does have certain restaurants that he likes to visit when he travels.
